Sarah, have you contacted your student loan company and asked if you can do a hardship deferrment? I did this and they allowed me to not make payments for six months, as well as put me on a reduced payment plan for three years. I have to make it up by paying for a longer period of time, of course, but it really helped me to get some relief. I have also had to call, since then and have the reduced payment placed on a three month forebearance. They were very nice and very willing to help. All they wanted was for me to make contact with them. Maybe your company will be the same way. It's worth a try, anyway. :-)

if you haven't already, definitely call your student loan company and try for a deferment. When I did this (I did it for the state of Kentucky educational loan), all the company required from me was to fax them proof of my income and other expenses. Eleroo is right
