They refused to provide anything in writing when I asked, and they called that a stall tactic on my part. They actually called me at work, and gave veiled threats of arrest for felony.
The following is pretty much what the woman Veronica Masters said to me: You have been noted as a key element in an investigation of fraud and bank theft. Imperative you pay now, or in the next 20 minutes we will be forced to have you "identified by the State you live in as a felon". Do you remember Martha Stewart?
She said I should leave my place of business right away if I don't want extreme embarassement in 20 minutes. She said if I have children, I should start making arrangements for their care. She said if I am married, I should contact my husband ASAP. She said that they will have everything taken away from me. Take me for everything I have, I think she put it.
i think since you are in legal paralegal status
you should be defending the ones who actually did pay their paydayloans,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Are they really going to send me to jail? I have already paid them $200 and they won't provide me with any information. I'm starting to think I am just out of $200. What do you think

Are these Attorneys or a CA? You should never give out any of your account information until the debt has been verified as belonging to you. Shocked

it is a scam, they callled me today also, and ive been doing research about these people. they threatned to come get me from my job and take me to jail. it is not true.

They called me at my job today and threatened to send a "team" to my job to pick me up and send me off to jail because I owe $1000.00. I spoke with an Alexa (or Alexis) Calloway. After I got off the phone with her I looked her number up (877.627.0413) and it came up as a scam (800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-441-4001/9). I contacted Bank of America's Corporate Security office and filed a case. I will also be contacting the state.

Does anyone know if this law firm or whatever they claim to be use this number also? i googled this number and it brought me to this forum i spoke to a lady name sandra witten or whittem something like that she called me stupid, simple and told me she has caller id and yada yada so i called her a **** and hung up.

Spellman and Roman is just the old Bass Prelitigation. Frank Jackson got run out of Florida by the AG and set up shop under a new name in South Carolina. Frank isn't a lawyer (in fact, he's got a criminal record) and neither is anyone else in his shop.

They called me last week and I also paid them as it sounded like I was really going to jail. They had the county and state I live in and sounded quite convincing. They threatned me and I caved in and paid. I now think they are full of crap also but they scare the hell out of you on the phone.

I was contacted by a Sandra Whitten on Dec 24, 2008, I was first pissed that they was calling me on christmas eve but leaving messages on my mother voicemail stating that I or my attorney needed to get in contact asap. She said that I had a warrant going out that same day and may be picked up by friday. Now the part where I feel real stupid is that I am in law enforcement and shouldve asked her for a copy of the warrant and what police agency she was getting the warrant thru. I asked her what was the charges, she said something like fraud and stolen funds. I was like I didn't obtain these funds fraudelty. But because I was soo stressed out, being christmas eve and all, I paid the money, and she stated I was going to recieve an email stating the information, I have not recieved any information. What can I do, I am going to contact Mrs. Whitten and advise her that I am going to file charges against her and what ever company she represents for extortion and fraudelty obtaining funds. And threating a law enforcement officer.

Well they are good at threats ie warrant for your arrest yada yada yada... but also claimed I had paid my loan ... i got an advance loan payday loan, $ for 200.00 she even said 1st Patriot Bank was the People saying that the loan was paid and that my bank who has closed the account was charging 1st patriot monies for my account being closed due to fraudulant activity.So $240.80 more was due And Katherine Shorestein attorney @ law did nothing but scream and yell, and I told her the loan was paid.she said well since you know it all i'm swearing a warrant out for your arrest for bank fees that were obtained between the 2 banks on one another and I was being held responsible for those fees!!! when I called back.this lady was the same lady claiming to be ms shoresteins paralegal........and i told her that, I paid the fees but now these 2 banks and I will be in court very soon and i'm filing charges on fradulant activity as well on spellman and roman for threats when the so called 1st patriot bank had been paid their $200 dollars and they also said it was paid so i don't understand why this debt is still even being claimed unpaid when i looked up the crecit card charge it wasn't 1st patriot bank who got the money but infact spellman & roman This Sandy lady said an email confirmation letter would be sent to me as well and still nothing when i call the number back no one answers the phone..... So i believe we are being scammed for monies........ I think my next call will be to the attorney general to report this case.anyone with me on this!!!!

Spellman & roman are a complete fraud i paid 652.00 and even recieved a confirmation letter with case # and no one seems to know which account it was for.i tried looking up number and instead i get this site with others that are upset like me.when i find out where they are bet there will be a lawsuit.
