Student Loan - Premier Credit of North America

My daughter called me last night and her husband received information from Premier Credit of North America, LLC. They are threatening to take their tax refund for a student loan. They wanted bank information to pay $50 to start a program with Premier Credit or they would take the tax refund. Can anyone shed any light on this company?

What should she do now. Should she try and work with this company? If she does, will they still take her taxes. This is actually a student loan her husband had before they were married.

It really depends on the policy of the guarantor. Most required that you be in repayment by a certain date to get your taxes back...a couple did not. He really needs to work with them as they can garnish paychecks without a court order as well.

She could file an injured spouse form to get her portion of the taxes back.

Well, they took the tax return for the student loan (which is okay, because now it is paid in full and they have the letter showing it is). However, Premier Credit called last night and told my daughter they still her them $508 in fees. However, my daughter as the PIF letter from the student loan lender. She told them she needed their address so she could send them a validation letter and they hung up on her. My question is "Can they still try to collect fees when my daughter has a PIF letter?"
