has recently acquired my grandmother's account from sears. She owes a whopping $9000.00 and they told her very rudely that if she doesn't pay the $9000.00 by Friday that they are going to sue her and garnish her social security any advise?

I did that on Friday and they just got it yesterday but they called again..

Send a cease and desist letter to their mailing address. They will be legally stopped from calling you on the phone after receiving your C&D letter. If they call again, sue them for the violation of the federal laws. Take Cajun's advice on keeping a note of the phone calls with date and time. Check the laws of your state before recording the phone calls. In some states, you need permission of both the parties before taping the conversation.
