Paydayisland-anyone have (or had) loan with them?

Hi everyone!

I have a loan with this company, and I searched through most of the threads but did not see any reference to them. I am in NY.

I have paid them $180 so far, and the loan was for $300. I have no contact info for them, the only way to get through to them is to e-mail through their site, which I have done, but they never respond!

I want to pay them what I owe them and that's it. Of course, they say I still owe them $300. I have closed my checking account that they have access to, so the payment coming up this week will be returned.

Anyone have any experience with these guys that could give me any advice? I have a feeling they are not located in the US, but I'm not sure.

TIA!

sparkles, do a "google search" on this site and put that name in. I know, a few days ago, someone else posted regarding this company. I remember it saying something about this company is just a company that refers to a lender that will give you the loan. The member who posted the question was confused because they also couldn't find contact information for them. If this is the case, this company could have shuffled you around and found a pdl to lend you the funds, which means it could be under a totally different name. Go to the "google search" box and type it in. I know it was just a few days ago. It might not say a whole lot, but it might give you some insight.

So, in other words, sparkles is going to have to find out the "true" name of the pdl, correct?

Exactly correct, cannr! :-)

Unfortunately, there are a LOT of these websites out there - I did a recent search on PDL's after we found out about Payday Island - I came up with no less than 25 in a 15 second Google search. And ALL of them - every last one - was a payday lender "referral" company. Not one was a direct lender. This makes it very difficult for a customer to contact their lender directly, because it could be one of any number of companies.

sparkles, do you have ANY documentation of the loan which may have the pdl name on it? If not, do you have a bank statement where they deposited the funds into your account? There may be a name next to the deposit. This would probably be the name of your "real" pdl.

It's possible they could, Morningstarr...but it would be faster for sparkles to look at the bank statement or online banking records to see what company name is posted next to the deposit or withdrawal from their account to see who it was. Since Payday Island only has an e-mail contact shown on their site, who knows when they would actually respond, if ever.

Hi guys!
Actually, the debit on my bank statement says "paydayisland". And their website is where I make arrangements to extend the loan, pay in full, etc. So I think they are the direct lender (but not sure).

I have tried to send them emails through their site several times, but never received a response.

I guess once the payment bounces, they will be in touch! LOL

sparkles - can you block ACH debits from your account, or close it, in order to regain control of your money? Once you do that, they'll DEFINTELY get in touch with you, if they want their money. Then you can make payment arrangements with them from that point.

Trust me, if you don't block them from your account, or close the account, they will continue to debit, and your account will end up in the negative.

Thanks Suebee! no that other post wasn't mine. I wonder if these guys will start harrassing me by phone once the payment doesn't go through. I tried contacting them to tell them that I had to close that bank account (due to other PDLs), but they never responded.
I don't get it, why wouldn't they respond?

sparkles, never be surprised when a pdl doesn't respond to you. They'll just keep debiting your account. It's like any communication you've had with them never existed. Keep ALL documentation. Only correspond via email or USPS. Tell them that. Do not take telephone calls. No documentation. Get everything in writing. Like stated in the above post, once they can't debit you any longer, honey, they'll contact you. If they do it by telephone, tell them to only contact you via email or USPS - no phone calls will be permitted. You need to have documentation of everything.

These pdl's ignore correspondence. This way they can continue racking up "their" fees. So when you finally are able to contact them, they'll tell you that you owe $20,000 on that $300 loan since you haven't been paying the "fees". They love that game.
