Brownsugar is right, whether it is a chpt. 7 or chpt. 13 these can be included in your bankruptcy and if they were they are in violation. After I filed for bankruptcy, several years later, one of the loans I put on bankruptcy wanted to offer me some money.
When I got there and filled out my application (I knew that I wouldn't get approved for it), they just "happened" to look on the computer and said I owed them $230 and they wanted to collect. I said that they were on my bankruptcy and they contend that they were not. I actually got into an argument with the lady before I left.

Once the bankruptcy has been discharged, you don't have to pay the debt.
