No you are wrong. They keep calling my mothers cell phone looking for a Geroge walker, not the real name, but my mothers name is , sally wong, not her real name, just an example. I tell them they have the wrong person and the person theya re calling for does not have this number. They still continue to call regardless. THAT is harassment.

Have your mother send them a C&D and inform them any further contact will result in her filing harassment charges for violations of the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) to the tune of $500 PER CALL (cellphone only) after recieving the C&D. See www.fcc.gov for more info on the law. Send it CMRRR.

Unwarranted calls
This company began pestering me for someone else's debt for whom I am not responsible and have no connection. Sent complaint to DoNoCall Registry this past week so am waiting to see if they, again, leave one of their annoying voice messages on my phone. If they continue, will contact them by mail as just shown their address. Anyone have this trying experience?
Beware of Universal Fidelity
I got a letter from them a couple of days ago, followed by a phone call the very next day. Mind you, the debt in question was paid off two years ago, and I have a letter from the debt holder that proves it. When I told them I had this proof, and that I would be filing harassment charges against them and notifying my lawyer about their attempt to collect on a debt that had been paid off, they couldn't get off the phone fast enough. I called them back - the number on the letter went to a voice mail box that didn't identify who it even belonged to. I called the same number again, and it went to yet a different voice mail box. I left messages on both saying that I wanted their fax number so I could fax them the letter showing the debt was paid. Amazingly they have never called back. This kind of makes me think they are scam artists and are just hoping people will pay up to protect their credit. Thank God I have saved that letter!
Never Enough
I made all my payments and was supposed to be done paying them this month!! They just told me that I was building interest the whole time and I have to pay another $170 to pay off my total. The catch is, if I wait until next month to pay it, I will have another bill for the interest on the interest!! When does it end?
"unpaid bill"
these people some how get my information and ask for"unpaid bill"from san jhon hospital every year, last year i chk with hospital there is not any "unpaid"bill under my name.
i spoke with universal fidelity and the guy was a complete ass!

My card was used fraudulently and i could prove that i was in the middle east and some asshole said that a copy of military orders was not enough proof!
Universal Fidelity
They called me a week before christmas, I agreed to start payments after Christmas. They (Scott Eaches) told me that "his client" wouldn't wouldn't accept after Christmas it had to be now. I asked if he would even ask his client or make the offer, he said no. I told him I was a single parent/student working full time to stay off public assistance. He told me "If you think its rough now wait until I get done with you" I was shocked, that's a threat. So now when Scott calls I ask politley if this is the guy that made said threat, when he says yes I hang up. I may be in debt but no one is threatening me and or my child.

I have a finger hut account but do not owe a balance on this account, I do not want to call them, is there anyway I can find out what they want without returning their calls?
how do I find out what they want without calling them
I don't owe them or anyone else anything that I know of so I don't want to respond to them how do I get rid of them
Harassment from Universal Fidelity Corp
I am being harassed from UFC for a debt that is not mine. I have told UFC time and time again they have the wrong number and to stop calling but everyday I continue to receive calls, sometime two or three, on my caller ID. How can I get this harassment to stop?
universal bull
Universal is a sham with exploitation up the *** i was laid off from them in the beginning of April and was promised a commission check which will never be written out since I'm not on pay roll to the company. Even their top collectors will disregard requests to stop calling and wrong #s. I'd consider giving out extension numbers and manager names for those in need but I need to look out for my career and their testimony is still one I would like.
universal bull
For those who are nervous to call, it is your best bet to finding out what they want instantly. Explain the situation with the telephone calls they'll need your name or the # they are contacting to find out why they are calling. they settle accounts and most of the collectors will take it, don't fall for any haggling... most of their prices can be dropped to 50%
finally got a person!
I called them collect since I have no business with them and I wasn't going to pay a long distance charge. They wouldn't take the call but gave me a toll free phone number!! It is 1.800.580.8887. They weren't very kind, but did say my number was listed for some one else and that they would remove it. We will see if it happens or not.

These people keep calling with a recorded message saying I have to return their call before a certain time .I have no dedbt with anyone and do not know why they are calling.I can not find a number to call their office to have it out with them. What can I do?
They seem to like trying to collect from people who owe no debt,
They seem to like trying to collect from people who owe no debt, I call that a SCAM. ("http://www.complaints.com/Universal-Fidelity-Corporation-999/Universal-Fidelity-Corporation-999.html")
Unfortunately, scams are worse than zombies, they keep getting back up. Their address and more info on them can be found here: ("http://universal-fidelity.pissedconsumer.com/"). They are required by Federal law (the FDCPA) to send you a dunning letter, detailing the debt info and how you can dispute it and what your rights are. And according to the FTC, leaving a voicemail *is* considered 1st contact. You should also ask them to Cease & Desist telephone contact and contact you by mail, but only for 2 reasons: to validate the debt or to apologize for their error.
IVE DEALT WITH THEM BEFORE AND THEY DO NOT JUST CALL YOU FOR NO
IVE DEALT WITH THEM BEFORE AND THEY DO NOT JUST CALL YOU FOR NO REASON, EITHER YOU HAVE A DEBT THERE ( BELIEVE IT OR NOT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY HAVE NO DEBT BUT REALLY DO ), OR THEY ARE TRYING TO REACH SOMEONE WHO HAS GIVEN OUT YOUR NUMBER. SENDING A CEASE AND DESIST WILL ONLY TEMPORARILY STOP THE CALLS, UNTIL ANOTHER COLLECTION AGENCY STARTS CALLING, AND LETTERS ARE NEVER STOPPED WITH A CEASE AND DESIST. YOU NEED TO CALL THEM. FIND OUT WHY THEY ARE CALLING AND FOR WHO. THATS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THEM TO STOP, OR TO FIND OUT WHY.
calling and hanging up
universal fidelity (#281-647-4116) has called our home everyday for the last two weeks. They do not say anything, just hang up. I returned the call today and complained to them and they hung up on me. Enough is enough. We have no outstanding debts and several collection agencies have called for two people that had this phone number before. Please take our phone number off your list. personal info removed - Jason I have filed a complaint with the FTC. Thank you, Mrs. Cawthon 6/25/09

Also file with the FCC (harassment over the phone) and your State Attorney General. If it continues, call your phone company and request the number blocked.
Trying to pay.. my real debt
I am having trouble paying off my debts that I occured trying to pull myself out of a foreclosure after my husband was diabled. I understand I have an obligation to pay Target (who I racked up my debt to) but I continue to be harrased by UF. When I bipassed paying Universal Fidelity after they continued to contact me at work regardless of multiple requests that they not do so. I went to a Target store and paid 50 bucks towards my account. UF continues to call me leaving threatening voicemails "urging me not to disregard their call" I want to make sure if their "threats" of garnishing my wages are true, wouldn't it be Target who files a lawsuit against me for non payment and not Universal Fidelity and if someone wants to spend the money to do that, wouldn't I have the legal right to be notified of that and be able to represent myself? I don't think they have the jurisdiction to threaten to garnish my wages unless they are doing it in behalf of Target who i'll continue to throw whatever I can at them. Anyway, i'm filing a C&D for phone contact and requesting any communication in writting to insure I don't get fired when they feel like dialing the "wrong" number and calling me at work.

I reported them to the Attorney Generals Office of the State of West Virginia for phone harassment and they have recieved a letter not to contact us anymore. They still continue to do so. Calling anywhere from 4 to 6 times a day. Not ending some nights until almost 10 pm. They are very rude refusing to give me there address and hanging up on me. I had one so called supervision tell me that I was a Damn bum and needed to pay my bill. Funny thing is we never got anything from Finger Hut to begin with.
that is not true
wwe dont ask what you ate just the info that we need so that we can disclose info. and just in case, people is not the same way. there are people who know how to run this
I have not had any dealings with Fingerhut for almost 10 years.
I have not had any dealings with Fingerhut for almost 10 years. Universal Fidelity keeps calling me repeatedly and either doesn't answer or hangs up when I keep saying hello ?
Here is their address from their current website :
Universal Fidelity

Houston, Tx. 77084

When collection agencies call and harass me I send them a certified letter with a return receipt and also tell them in my cease and desist letter that I am also sending a letter of complaint to my state attorney general's office and the FTC. I've done this several times and then they stop calling. What bugs me is that each time I've done this it costs me $ 5 which I cannot get back. Once my current bills are paid, I'm going to an Iphone and getting rid of my landline. I also tell them that I will only pay money owed to the original creditor, which seems to work. I've not worked for almost 2 years due to illness and these people don't stop UNLESS you send them a cease and desist letter.
Credit report Potentially negative Acct.
I am sending a validation collection letter to Universal Fidelity. By law how much time I have to wait for an answer from theme. I dont recalled any accounts with this people and I have never received a letter of Collection, but is in my transUnion credit report.
Please advice

The easiest way to stop calls, is to return the call and if you have a valid debt, set up payments or pay it off. Keep in mind that not paying your debts affects your credit report. In today's society your credit report is becoming more and more important. Employers, Auto Insurance Agents and any loans that you may be applying for will review this report.

Sending a debt validation request is important, it's always best to make sure the collection agency is REALLY who they say they are and are legally able to collect a debt, all collection efforts must cease until the debt is properly validated, and rightfully so.
