:( My income is$5k per year SS I did not file tax return for 2006 because of this.The IRS wants to know how I payed my mortgage of over $10000. what income did I use? It was payed by a Friend Who wishes to remain anonymous what should I tell IRS?

Request your friend to write a signed letter to IRS mentioning that he had paid your mortgage on your behalf along with the the payment receipt attached. If he doesn't do this then IRS may put lien on your house and take it away.

christmas cake is right.your going to have to tell them about your friend.i know he wanted to remain anonymous,but with that big a difference in money that was impossible.
