Name of CEO or President of TNB
Target has screwed my credit up royally. I've been on the phone and written to the "Credit Department" explaining my situation and seeking a solution, all to no avail.
I need the name and mailing address of the individual in charge at TNB in order to address correspondence directly to that person.
Many Thanks.

Identity Theft
Target Bank issued a Visa Credit Card to someone using my Social Security number in advance of doing a proper credit check and charges applied. No one has given me a formal response to any correspondence I have sent. Is there a RESPONSIBLE person I can contact at Target that will give me HELP rather than why they can't?
Thank you

RJH,
I really wonder how a company can make this type of errors that can affect consumers adversely!
You should take every precaution because the responsibility of this card might come to you as they have used your SS #. If the current card holder stops paying his bills, the creditor will transfer the account to collection agency and the collection people will find you and try to make you pay the bills.
So exercise some self-protection measures. Inform the credit bureaus about the incident. Also file your complaint with BBB, FTC so that you never suffer in future.
Also contact Target National Bank to the above address and try to fix the problem immediately.
Identity Theft
I have taken all the precautions by putting out alerts with all Credit Bureaus and FTC. Target is so eager to make that almighty buck, the credit card was issued on basis of my Social Security before they found that application was filled out with a Florida address, with New York Identification, and first name not the same as mine - Interesting to note that I live in California. I'm the victim and Target personnel don't think they did anything wrong and I have written Target Bank with no response. This is a classic example why consumers are forced to pay more for their prodcts. They have already charged in excess of $500 and naturally will eventually be written off as a loss. Good luck to all others having various problems with Target as I know the run around they are getting.
Thank you again for posting.

RJH
Make sure that you keep a close watch on the activities of Target. Otherwise, they will put you in such a situation where it will become tough for you to fight against them.
Avoiding the issue won't be preferable over here as you are responsible in this case. But make sure that you are not made responsible in future. So a close watch is absolutely necessary.
Identity Theft
Don't understand your comment dtd. 10-3 which states "Avoiding the issue wont be preferable as YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE in this case". How am I responsible when Target issued a Visa Credit Card to another party without doing a proper credit check?

I meant to say that if you take precautions from now onwards, you will be able to detect any fraudulent activity taking place in your account.
Since it is entirely related to your identity, it is your responsibility to safeguard it. I think I am clear this time.

Target Canceled my Card from no reason!
I phoned to get target to lower my apr and go transfered to someone else i couldnt understand and said i agreed to cancel my card. I never agreed to cancel anything and after speaking to several managers and supervisors, still nothing was done. Keep in mind i was a loyal member for over 6yrs, who was NEVER over the limit, never passed due and never late. Always paid more than amt due and PAID before the due date. Whatever happened to customer service and the loyal immaculate consumer with the perfect credit worthiness?
Not letting Target Get away with treating Floridians like this anymore.......PLEASE DONT BUY FROM TARGET ANYMORE OR YOU TOO WILL BE TREATED IN THE SAME FASHION. THEY FORGOT WHO PAID THIER SALARIES!

Un authorized credit card charges
This has been going on since Jan. Calling the company is no good as I found the BBB has hundreds of complaints against them. Called target to cancel the old card but even though I never activated the new card as I did not plan to use it, they keep billing my new one. How do you get out of this crooked credit card company.
target is two faced in helping people with credit isssues
Someone in my family had issues paying on time due to having no income over the last several months.Target promised they would help and in turn canceled the card. They are notorious for this and their customer service refuses to do anything since their csr reps are at a 0 level and their supervisors are not much better at an impowerment level. They refuse to give any ones names phone numbers.Their job is just to get your money.Well in my opinion targets customer service has missed the bullseye completly.

I to have been screwed over by Target after asking every month for my payment due date to be moved to the end of each month so I could pay it and not be late However they would not do so but told me to call the next month and they possibly could again a waste of time so after i made a payment of almost two hundred dollars they have continued to send me bills with late charges now they say i owe them 200.00 they continually call and harrass me from 9:00am until well past 9:00pm mon. through sun.Oh by the way my actual bill was 150.00 i have sent tnem way over 400.00 in payments.Someone should do something about this place, they really suck I WILL NEVER SHOP AT TARGET AGAIN

Target National Bank is a complete disaster!
Here is the craziest story ever concerning TNB: About one year ago during the Thanksgiving 2008 holiday I was visiting my sister in N. California and I went to the store to make my payment. Upon arrival to the store I realized I did not have my target card in my wallet and my statements were home in S. California. I called the credit department, while at the store, and I was told they could not provide me with my account number to make my payment. I was understanding of that so when I arrived the following day at my home I immediately went to pay my bill at my local store. When my new bill arrived I noticed the $15 late payment fee that was assessed because I paid the bill one day late so I called the credit customer service department and here is where the show began. I was told they could not remove the late fee because I had already had one removed earlier that year so I would have to wait one more year before they could remove a second late fee. The represenative told me to call back in one year so they can remove it, since she noted I was a good paying customer. I was shocked to hear this from a company such as Target and told her that her company would be missing out on my business because for the next year I would be doing my shopping elsewhere and I would not be using their card. A little over one year, I called them yesterday (December 11,2009), I called for the $15 credit of the late payment fee. I spoke to a represenative who told me she could not credit my account because she couldn't even access the bill where the late fee was assessed and she said even if she did find it she would have to see if she wanted to make an exception to reverse that charge. I was appalled to get this response so I asked to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor, which I was talking to at the call center in Phoenix, AZ and who's name is 'Lucia' with employee number 8954, was so rude and not helpful told me that she could not access more than one year of billing history and for that reason she could not credit my account. The funny thing is that she did tell me one late payment fee had already been credited to my account in October but the inquiry, that occured AFTER October, she was not able to see. I told her I could not believe she could not access further billing history since I know supervisors have access and more resources than the other representatives and she insisted she didn't. She said she would not credit my account and I told her that for the past year I was doing my shopping elsewhere and not used my Target card because of the poor customer service I was given back in 2008 when I was told to wait ONE YEAR to get a credit for that late payment fee. I told Lucia that their customer serivice was costing Target my business and her response to my inquiry clearly showed me lack of responsibility from Target to acknowlege their mistake in telling me to wait one year to dispute the charge, since now they couldn't even find it! She appolgized for not being able to do anything for me and even told me to report her to corporte! I told her I would be writting to her CEO and let him know that their credit customer serice is clearly giving TNB a bad name. I worked in one of the largest luxury department stores credit customer service and we would've never ever treated a customer this way! I was so shocked because after waiting for the time period I was told to wait I get this response from a supervisor! I'm still so upset and I will be writting to the CEO of TNB which I was told is Greg Steinhasel. If TNB is willing to loose my business for $15 then I guess that tells you how business savy they are and the type of management within their departments. As a business executive I know the value of a customer's business and the lifetime value of their patronage to me is worth much more than a tainted reputation, poor customer service and $15! I hope TNB decides to clean up their messy management and credit customer service or this company's stock will go down and investors will loose interest in this company. Too bad that I will not be using their card again and when I do choose to go back to shop at Target I will be using the Visa from the company I use to work for because I get reward points I can use for other better offers than the ones TNB offers. Good luck dealing with TNB if you have their credit cards!

Quite frankly? If I had been that CSR and had seen that you were not using the card, I wouldnt have given you the credit either. You effectively were not a revenue bearing customer.

I can not agree with the last post, I have been a Card Holder through TNB for 6 Years. I have never had one late payment and have always made more than the minimum payment. We are trying to pay down our credit cards, but since i do not have any late payments, they are unwilling to address their unbelievable interest rate (23%) my aberage credit Card has a 13 to 15 % Rate (yes this does include the Prime Rate). I even pay by EFT which reduces their operating expense, reduces their AR, and increases their cash flow. But they are unwilling to drop the interest rate..........I am paying my card off in full (I will take an unsecured loan at 6% to do this) and mt family will never shop there again! BTW - my average spend is 1500.00 a month with a super Target in my area. Too bad they do not care about 18K a year, or a potetial 180k from a 10 year customer? TNB needs to look at their good customers and take care of them, they should learn a lesson from Home Depot, don't take care of you customers and you will suffer from the outcome!

Target National Bank Visa cards are given out to young adults who attend college, and usually have only a part-time job at best, and when they cannot pay their regular monthly payments, their account is then promptly turned over to a debt collection agent. They seek a large monthly payment and when the young person cannot pay due to limited or unemployment, they do not try to work out a decent payment plan, but place a judgment against them in the courts, and further threaten and proceed with a request to garnish their wages.
I'm all for anyone who secures a credit card to pay back their debts promptly, and to alert their debtor should making payments become difficult. However, in light of today's economy where young people are either working part-time, or simply cannot find employment, then such debt collection practices are simply criminal in my opinion. I personally will no longer do business with Target stores, or any of its affiliates.

Why are you placing all the blame on Target? Target gives them the opportunity to establish credit...if they abuse it or charge up what they cannot afford, how can you blame Target? A lot of credit grants issue student cards...it is up to the student to use their credit wisely.

Here is my complaint. Target National Bank asks you questions you don't even know the answer to in order to verify your identity, then in turn, won't lift the block on your temporary card, which they never told you about in the first place. When you go shopping with your temporary card, you get up to the cashier and your temporary card gets denied, then you walk out with nothing.

They more than likely reduced your credit for non use which is quite normal. Since you did not activate it, even more reason to lower it...they may have feared it was lost or stolen.
so how do i have it restored to its original level.
kindly advise as to what i have to do in order to not keep it at $200.00
it makes sense when u say they must have feard i lost the card and therefore reduced it.
plz suggest.
