Thank You

I have read so much on here about how people are getting ripped off by these payday loan companies. I want to take the time to thank all of your for sharing your stories so that the rest of us learn from you and don’t go down the same road.
I feel for each and everyone of one you that ended up in this situation, Life is hard enough with out the extra added stress. It is good that you have a place like this to come too and discuss it. Then you find out that you are not alone and can share common problems and resolutions to the problems.
Again, thank you for sharing your stories. I know it takes a lot to bear your sole for the whole world to see, but you should be commended on it because I am sure that you have saved a lot of people a lot of headaches.
Goodluck and I wish you all luck with your situations, hope they resolve themselves in a positive nature soon.
:D

Thank you Jos :) Most of us share our stories so that others do not end up in the same situation that we have been in. Then we stay here to help those who have fallen into the same situation, and so we can help those who have just found us, just as those people who were here to help us when we first came here. Once you are here for awhile, the people here become more like family and friends. So it is easy to share things, to get the support you need to get through any situation.

Thank you again for this post :)

I just think it is wonderful, I have read some of the stories and see the despair, emotion and fear in the words of those who have been terribly mistreated by collectors. And the payday loans, wow, I can not believe the robbery there, it is unreal how much money people are losing on these types of companies. I think it is great the advice and support that is offered here.

I especially like the success stories, the relief these individuals must feel to finally have the upper hand, the celebratory words just fly off the page, you can just feel it. I think this is just great.

I look forward to being here for as long as I am welcome, encouraging and celebrating along with you guys, and of course learning a lot of good stuff along the way.

I know!!! I love the success stories too, they give us hope! we went to the bank to get a loan for our home and to our surprise our rep said that because the housing market is so low, we thought that they would approve anyone. so not so! you have to have darn good credit to be approved. we're looking at other places too, but my hubby and i thought, 'gosh we must be bottom of the barrel' we ended up getting approved for 100k 100% financed if we want to go that way, our scores were 690 so guess that's not too bad. funny thing is, the scores from the three credit unions were so different! transunion gave us the highest and there was a 70 point difference with experian, crazy stuff! welcome to the forums Jos :) :) :)

Thank you for the welcome debtstinker, I am happy to be here :D , I am trying to read through everything here. I ran across something that may be you all can help me with? How do you become a debt samaritan? I read that if you post good posts and you reach 100 does this automatically happen? How come you are not a debt samaritan yet debtstinker? I am curious, I would like to get more information on this and see if it is at all possible for me to do?

Jos...we have all been a bad financial situation sometime in our life. IF I had found this site a few years ago...I could have advoided a few pitfalls. But that's history and I still have a ways to go before I can do as debtstinker stated above...get a loan from my bank...but my credit is better. Congrats to you..debtstinker...you're doing well. Jos..we are looking forward to your input.

Are you going to buy a home? Some things you will want to consider are:
1. Paying your property tax and insurances in an escrow account. we do that with ours then we don't have that huge bill for property taxes at the end of the year. It was always hard to come up with that, seemed like every year we were borrowing it and paying back a high intrest rate, would just get it paid off and it would be due again. Now that it is in the escrow it is one less worry.

2. Putting back the extra payment once a year, unless you decide to do the bi monthly payment.

3. Get the fixed rate, do not whatever you do, no matter how low it is right now, do not take the flexible rate, it can sky rocket out of control. You really need to think about this one, it could possibly make you loose your home later when the payment goes up and you can no longer afford it.

I wish I had found this site a long time ago... Even if I only found it 3 months ago, I wouldn't be in as much trouble as I am in...

Theres lots of great advice on here.... I have been following it and will soon start my own voyage to clear out my IPDL's..

Just hope I will have a success story to share :)

I am sure that your success story is right around the corner tiffer, hang in there. I have not been here long, but have dealt with some debt myself, I too wish I would have found this site like a year or so ago, but I figure I can share what experience I have and maybe help some one out now, mine is mainly dealing with credit cards and collection agencies. I have been put through the wringer by some pretty rude people on the other end of the line. I have since taken care of them and have moved on. But I remember how stressful it was when it was happening. I still have debt, would not be human if I didn't, LOL. So I figure I may also find some good tips on here on how to deal with it. Here to learn and to pass on the experience that I did have already.
