Defaulted loan

I live in New York and took out a student loan back in 2000 and I was not married to my husband at the time. I didn't get married until 2007. Can they garnish his wages to pay back the loan?

They cannot garnish his wages but if it is federal they can seize his tax returns if injured spouse is not filed.
