student loan NIGHTMARE: Afraid of bank levy=HOMELESS WOMAN

Defaulted Student Loan Terror: DOE REFUSES to accept my offer to make monthly payments now and insists I go through CA...who never respond. FRIGHTENED THEY WILL LEVY MY BACK ACCOUNTS MAKING ME HOMELESS ON THE STREET. WHAT CAN I DO??? BEGGING YOU FOR ADVICE OR EXPERIENCE PLEASE!!!!

This is standard. Once a student loan is assigned to a CA you must work thru the CA.

As a general rule, student loans do not levy bank accounts...that requires a judgement and unless you owe in excess of $100K, that probably wont happen. They use administrative wage garnishment instead which does not require a court order.

Keep trying the CA.
