student loans... a lot of them

my fiance is considering filing bankruptcy, [lot of cc with exwife, we almost lost the house at one point, etc]

I know student loans dont factor in, but I know he probably owes about 10-20k in student loans, we need to go through his CR to add it all up.

My quetion [or questions]
How willing are they to set up payment plans for student loans? [sub and unsub]

and

is how long can he make payments before he can return to school? til they're completely paid off?
