Are student loans ever forgiven.
Are studen loans ever forgiven. I thought I remember if they were in repayment for a certain amount of years they were forgiven and the amount that is forgiven is considered income.

You have to be in repayment for 25 years thru the Direct Loan program. There is also the public service loan forgiveness program. Information is in the stickys at the top of this forum.
