Student in need
I'm having an extremely difficult time getting a student loan even with a co-signer who has very strong credit. My credit score is like 550 from many problems I had several years ago.
I've been back on track for a while now, just managed to pay off the car that I purchased new only 3 years ago. However my credit score went down.
I was recently accepted to an Ivy League University and without a student loan I have no way I can afford it. Unfortunately, like most Ivy League kids, I don't have a trust fund or parents that can pay my tuition.
Do you think some lenders would give me a student loan if I were to use my car as collateral?
Thought and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Even with my federal aid I am left with an outstanding balance that I need to be able to cover.

Well in this economy, you might not be be able to make it happen. And there is no disgrace in going to a public school where tutition is more affordable.
