Forebearances only cover past due payments not the credit reporting, so yes you will be reported as late. It is the borrowers responsiblity to file forebearances on time.

The department of education stand is that it is the responsiblity of the student to file all deferments and forebearance on time, which means BEFORE the payment becomes due. They will forgive the payment but credit wise you were legally late.
