dl or ffel

is there an advantage in terms of interest rate, forebearance ect. to consolidate my loans as either ffel(w/sallie) or direct loans(dept of ed)? I have both dl and ffel staffords. I do not qualify for any cancellation on these loans. I am a bussiness owner. Any thoughts?

Direct Loans has better repayment options....and better customer

Direct Loans has better repayment options....and better customer service I think. Everything else is the same.

i just read some loan repayment plans on dl loans..the new ibr(i think) new in july 2009, is this available for both dl and ffel?

Dont think the FFELP loans have the same cancellation policy. After working with loans for years, it is my opinion that the Direct Loan program is and always will be the best program available. They are the most flexible and the most customer service oriented. Too many people complain about Sallie Mae and citibank.
