Student loan rehabilitation
Did the law change effective July 1 for Student loan rehabilitation? I've completed the rehab and my loans have been purchased by another lender. I received a letter from the guarantor indicating that they will remove my negative history from my credit report and the letter also indicates that the prior loan holder will also remove the delinquency from my credit report. But when I called the prior loan holder, they indicated that they would not remove the delinquency. When I called the guarantor back, they told me again that it was federal law effective July 1. I've looked at the higher education opportunity act and see that changes are indeed effective July but I can't understand what the changes are.

I am reading the Act and changes now. This only applies to Rehabilitation sales on/after
8/14/2008. This comes under Guarantor Reporting Requirements and I am not sure whether this will apply to lenders/services since they are not the guarantor.
