i asked my employer to cosign for my daughters student loan several years back , he agreed to knowing that i will make sure she kept up with her agreement, she has stopped paying for her loan and we havn't speken for 2 years ,, now my old employer is now threaten me to pay for the loan or he will sue me ,,,,,i am not on the student loan , ,, he says i made a oral promise to pay , but i have not signed anything can he sue me ?

You have no liability for the loan and he would have a tough time proving a verbal contract so it is not likely that will work. You need to talk to your kid and make sure THEY understand the consequences....they will be sued, wages garnished and bank accounts levied.
