school loan

i have a 9000 school loan and i got a notice only one week before they started garnishing my wages is there any way to go around getting garnished and maybe doing payments cuz its gonna take like 5 years and i cant really afford it its killing my bills

You would have been sent a 30 day notice giving you the opportunity to appeal the garnishment. If you failed to respond, you give up a lot of your rights. You can appeal it will require a complete financial statement including copies of bills. They will take into consideration rent/mortgage, food, transportation, utilities and child care. If you are married, your spouses income is required too. Credit card debts and other loans are NOT taken into account.

Keep in mind this is one of your bills too.
