How can I finish college?
I have out of college for 5 yrs. I am an upstate NY Native American with two children. In college a very important part of an assignment was withheld from me due to absences I had in coalition with a hospital stay. This withold of information prevented me from furthering in the program. Thus preventing me from continuing in college. Now 5 yrs later my tuition debt has been sent to collections. I argue that I had not voluntarily dropped out, nor was I administratively expelled, and since I was only allowed to complete half a semester, I should only have to pay half of the tuition. This problem has prevented me from applying to any other colleges and futhering my eduaction in any way. What are my options? I just want to finish my degree.
Tuition is due the semester you attend....tuition is only refund
Tuition is due the semester you attend....tuition is only refundable depending on the withdrawal policy of the school. With most colleges, no refund is due after the first month of school and if you do not withdraw according to that schedule, you are not eligible for anything. Your arguement that you should only pay half because you only attended half tells me that you more than likely did not qualify for any refund or be eligible for any reduction in tuition. You will have to pay it if you wish to continue your education.
