how long can a private company collect on student loans?
my husband signed up for a private student loan in 2000. he withdrew from the school two days after enrolling b/c the school completly lied about what they were offering. we have received no communication from the student loan company or the school until recently. can they still collect on the debt? btw the orginanl creditor is out of business as well as the school

I believe students loans have no SOL . . . . They are also not dischargable by bankruptcy. Student Loans and Taxes are things you cannot get out of paying unless you die . . . . And please, no one think I'm suggesting anyone kill themselves to get out of debt. That is not at all what I'm saying.
