What can happen if I leave the country without paying student loans?

I owe $10,000 on student loans. Due to job demand, I have to move to Europe. Now, my question is, what can happen if I don't pay off student loans and leave the country?

Do you owe federal student loans or private student loans? If you have federal student loans, then it's better to pay it off before leaving the country. If you don't pay off federal student loans, then it may lead to garnishment of wage, Social Security benefits, and tax refund. Private student lenders will sue you once you default on loans.

Simple...you will be getting a hard blow on your social security benefits, tax refunds, and your wages will be garnished if you do not pay the federal student loan.
In case of a private student loan, the lender might sue you if you do not pay them.
