I need some help fast
I am married, a full-time college student, with a 5-month old and another on the way. My wife cannot work because of her VISA status and I am only allowed to work 20 hours a week. At $10.50 an hour, that doesn't amount to much.
I have a growing student loan debt which will total about $50,000.00 when I graduate in 2009 and I have car loan and credit card debt totaling $25,000.00+. I don't know what to do and I need some help and advice fast.
I have tried so many internet work-at-home opportunities but none seem to work. Please write back with some advice.

I am involved in a number of internet opportunities and make money in some. However, the truth is that most are scams and any that are not require a great deal of focus and work (and often, a monetary investment) and time to be successful. It sounds as if your needs are too immediate for internet opps to be much help in the short run. As you are fairly young (I assume) and already so far in debt, you need some serious help. I would immediately seek assistance from a non-profit credit counselling service in your area (check the phone book). There are no easy answers, but you can get out of this. It is critical that you make every effort to not get further in debt (i.e., stop using the credit cards!). Best of luck to you!

Welcome to the Community :D Since you have registered, take advantage of the free credit counseling. They may have an option that suits your needs, and you are free to choose one or not. Since you are limited by working, this may take some time to get things squared away. Feel free to ask questions, and keep us posted..KAren

Who only allow you to work 20 hours a week?? Is this under work study or a scholarship stipulation?

Hi almachapter1
i agree with gmanch. in your situation credit counseling would/can provide immediate help for you and your family. I have been in somewhat of a similar situation where my college requires all of their students (it's a private small college) to work and when i was a student i made a little over $2.00 an hour. reason being that all students had most of their expenses covered through the college's large endowment. however, i racked up lots of credit card debt and didn't have the $$ to pay it off so i had to resort to credit counseling which did provide me immediate relief to those collection calls! be careful though, be sure to research some companies no all have your best interests at heart. I chose Ameridebt when it was still in existence only to find out that they were being sued and the company dissolved. Ameridebt was a non profit and Money Management International took over. thankfully the transition was smooth for me and in a matter of 4 years through hard work and saving i paid my debt. check out: financialplan.about.com/od/creditcarddebt/a/ChooseCCS.htm
if you have some time. good luck!
