Student Loan at Allied Interstate
My BF has defaulted on a federal student loan. Allied Interstate has been calling us and family members for at least a year or two. We made a payment or two, but don't have the kind of money we would need to even keep ahead of the interest. What can we do? The original loan is Sallie Mae, that's all I know.

He needs to get it resolved. Allied can garnish his wages without a court order and the guarantor can seize his tax returns. He needs to get on the phone and set up a payment plan....look at rehab or consolidating thru the Direct Loan Program.
He needs to sit himself down and read the student loan forum.
