Hsbc recovery dept

I am in default with 2nd mortgage with HSBC. I have had no success in talking with anyone at their office. I have recently received a letter stating my full loan amount has been accelerated, and is in the Recovery Department. I would like to work out a payment/settlement but have no funds at this time. I am reluctant to attempt conversation since my previous experience was sub par to say the least.
