Do these programs affect a security clearance?
:shock: I have $30000 in cc debt and have joined a DMP. my problem is the payments aren"t much less and the interest was lowered but because of the required minimums I struggle working xtra hours just to break even. I am a faw enforcement officer and ironically I added half of my debt to get through the training period and a few months following. I will discuss options if any with my personnel dept. but I was wodering if anyone had any input. Thanks

Since you are a law enforcement officer, credit counseling and effort to repay the debt would be helpful in order to get security clearance. This is because excessive debts may force you to commit illegal acts in order to repay your debts. So I think that joining a DMP would help you in this case.
