Is it True that if they say they want a certain amount of money but it is not affordable for me, as a single mother. That they have to accept what I can afford as long as it is reasonable? They say 10% of my gross income, and I have 2 other judgments I???m working on currently, I can honestly afford $50.00 A month, and that???s cutting out cable to make that happen, which is not a necessity!.

No, if your creditor has a judgment against you, they can basically garnish up to 25 percent of your paycheck (depending on state laws), levy your bank account and put a lien on your assets and it would continue till the judgment is satisfied.

They have no obligations to either comply to your requests for lower monthly payments nor would they consider the fact that you are a single mom, working very hard to keep the lights on and hungry mouths fed. Those poor excuses for people working in the lending/credit/collection business are essentially soulless parasites (at least the ones in the corner office with the bloated paychecks are).

Have you considered bankruptcy as an option? At least that way, all the judgments are going to be taken care of and you might still get to keep cable.
