Allied Collection Call

I have gotten a call from a Allied Collection and no return number on my voice mail thay just said to refer to reference # 536731. So I tried to contact them and found many companies all over the US with this same name. How to a protect my credit and locate which one of these companies call Allied Collection called me. I have not a clue what this is all about. I have perfect credit and want to keep it that way before thery report me to the credit bureau for something I know nothing about.
