A few years ago, I was knee-deep in pay day loan debt. With some incredibly helpful advise from this site, I got things back together. But, as a result of all of the overdrafts and loan companies, i had to close my chase bank account on two different occasions and now have my payroll direct deposit to a pre-paid debit. card.
My question is this. I am going to pay the collection companies handling the two closed accounts a settlement on both to erase the debt. But can I open another bank account with Chae or will they reject me because of paying a settlement?

Thanks!

I too had the same problem with overdraft fees at Chase and I am fighting them (o/d fees of 850.00 and total o/d of 1142.00). They closed my account and I have sent this information to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and opened up a case. I opened up a checking account with Bank of America, only to be told a week after getting my debit card, welcome letter, etc. that they closed it due to Chase reporting my closed account to Centrex.
