Date: Tue, 03/05/2013 - 10:59
court summons for March 7th from Blitt&Gaines for Discover Card Debt of #3,350. A lawyer made a phone call and they said they would settle for $2,400. I had paid them 6,400 on $5,500 of purchases up until 2009 when i lost my job, but they will settle for $2,400 with 3 payments of $800. I never asked for a debt validation Can I still do this and fight this or do I just need to pay them. They did call my son in law and say he should tell me they had a business deal to offer me. Is this harrassment?

You've got to make it to the court any how. Don't shirk that. Try and propose a settlement if possible and see if it's accepted.
What you paid them in the
What you paid them in the past is totally irrelevant and means nothing. The attorney is collecting directly for discover....it is too late and IMHO pointless....you could easly call and verify with discover. Get the agreement in writing and make sure that you show up at the court hearing....otherwise they could still end up with a judgment against you.
