Don't most federal loans automatically know when you've enrolled in a new school once financial aid is disbursed? Sounds like a private loan to me as the ones I have didn't grant me in-school deferment once left the initial school

It was a federal loan. I contacted the people and told them I was in school and they wanted paper work so I sent it then they wanted more so I sent that also. After all that I never heard anything from them.

With my student loans from my last school I had to tell my current school who I had my student loans with and the school contacted the lender via a form stating I was in school full time and that took care of everything.
Hopefully your new school can just fax them the paperwork and it will work itself out
