If you have outstanding obligations, and they have been turned over to a collection agency, these obligations can be effectively dealt with using the FDCPA and a letter drafted in strict accord to that Act. The bottom line is you don't have a contract and/or obligation with the collection agency and they can't produce any contract that you signed with them, Of course there is more to it, but that's the short version. Don't be scammed by companies that act as if it takes a lot of time and money to make a debt go away... It doesn't.

YES, they DO work well.....was paying 800.00 a month in PDL fees to 3 companies.....with T&C, they took care of them and now I pay 55.00 a month paying the pdl companies off.....a HUGE difference....they are registered with the BBB and there are no negative responses, so they DO a great job. 195.00 up front then your payment each month.....trust me it is worth it!!!....
Interesting. Are these PDLs that you're paying off even legal?
Interesting. Are these PDLs that you're paying off even legal? Because if they aren't, you getting screwed double.

ohiogal if the poster before you is in the military as the name ARMYSSG would sound like.then i don't know of any loans that are legal, and therefore they are getting ripped off,or they could be a shill.just don't know.

I also tried debt consolidation to get out of debt. What these companies do is hold on to your money for years while they build up a fee for themselves, having you thinking that they are negoiating for us. Two of my creditors took me to court while these jokers were supposily helping me. I had them returned my money.
If you and your husband are working, write the creditors and make a promise to pay what little you can. Give everyone $50 monthly untill paid off, the economy is bad, they will work with you. Thats how im paying mind off. If either of you is retired, they cannot touch your money.

Debt Consolidation and Pay Day Loans
Hello! I work in the legal department of a payday company. We do not make it a practice to work with debt consolidation/solution/relief companies but we take payment IN FULL. If a partial payment is received, I return it to T&C with a letter. The reason behind this is: we do not see the point in our customers paying someone else to pay us...or their other bills, for that matter. The money you are using to pay Town and Country could be used to pay your bills instead of paying them to do the same thing for you.
Contact your payday loan place and ask for a payment plan. Depending on the delinquientcy (yeah I know...I spelled that wrong) of your loan, they may let you make a payment arrangement.
Hope this information helped you. :D

Please don't use them , they are liarers
I started with them 2 month ago and when i first started with them they told me that they would pay off all my bills and then i would make one payment to them and all i had to do was to send $195.00 to start well i set the money and after they got the money then they tell me that they don't pay off your loans so i got mad with them so i thought i would give them a shot so i gave them 6 of my bills and they told me that they could get the payments lowered and they sent me my first bill and it was $426.00 so i called them and asked why so much they told me how much they would pay each month on my bills so i told them to take off 2 of the bills witch then brought my payment down , so i sent them my first payment of $245.00 , so a month has gone by i called them to find out what was going on they were going to raise my payment to $300.00 because they could not get these people to lower the payments they all wanted the full payments so i told town & country why am i going to pay you the full amount to you when i can do it my self and save the fees and i asked them to send me my money back and to take me out of there system so now i am waiting to see if i am going to get any of my money back , so with the 2 month that i was dealing with them it put me 2 month behind in payments so know i have to play catch up on my bills SO PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM TRY TO WORK IT OUT WITH THE COMPANY'S THAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH.
Response
Yes. My husband and I have been working with Town and Country and trust they have to be getting things done, because as long as you make your payments to them, they are going to distribute the payments to each creditor as stated on your invoices. Some creditors will tell you that they do not participate in that program however, town and country will still try to send the payments. The thing is, if they do not send it back they are obviously going to accept the payments just giving you a hard time. Now there are some placed that may not participate and may be to the point that you may have to go ahead and pay that particular one off, but if Town and Country and guarantee them a sensible payment agreement, most will accept payments.

I received a green postcard from these people. All the card said was "Money problems?" Call free call now! Guaranteed Help! Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Hate to say it, but this PDL employee has a point. Don't consolidate PDLs.
a collector
I am a collector and not only does this company not have a web site, but the arrangements that are sent to us from this company are so small that, their is no way i can get them approved. I have worked we dozens of debt consolidators and with the lack of contact and low settlement offers. your going to end up getting your account drafted unexpectedly, or a judgement.
