Has anyone heard of Stuart Allen & Associates?

I am sure they are a collection agency for an internet pdl that I have. I have searched the BBB and nothing matches. The number they called from was: 520-352-7111.

Any info would be greatly appreciated before I call them back.

Just a phone call and nothing else yet. They call my cell phone so I cannot figure out who they may be trying to collect for. If it is for a credit card I just got set up today with a debt consolidation company and those calls should cease because they will be getting money here real soon!

I don't think I will call them back.

I wouldn't since you are with a conslidation company. If you are concerned who they are collecting for, send them, e-mail, and fax them a debt validation letter. I googled them using what Volley had in her post and it gave me two addresses one in AZ and one in Tucson.

Yes, these people are for real. They are debt collectors, not lawyers like the name implies. I never did return their call and I received a letter about a week later in the mail. Don't worry about it, if they really want your attention they will send you something in the mail.

I received a letter them saying my company owed them money. I talked with them about and 10 months later they tried to validate it. When I talked them again they still didn't return my call for another 2 months. Now they are harassing me again. Calling 2 - 3 times per day.

These guys are after me to pay on some accident that I did not have. They work for state farm and neither one of them can produce a police report or court papers, just and internal report that says ya you caused the accident. Best part is that I was at work and my work place can verify it. The accident happened over 100 miles from my house during my work hours. I think they are trying to blame anyone they can get to pay a debt off for them. This company is a scam. Cold day in hell before I pay them for something I didn't do!!! Ask them to produce a contract that states you are responsible for this.

This company seems to create quite a bit of debt for everyone. I just checked my credit report and there is something on there from them which I believe to be bogus. I tried to contact them to see what it was allegedly from and I got no response. When I Googled the company name it seems that this has occurred to many more people than just myself. There have been quite a few people who have discussed how they have requested proof of charges and received nothing in return. If this company is really making fraudulant credit problems for everyone, How are they still around?

This company called me this weekend in reguards to a accident involving my parked rented uhaul. The person who hit the vehicle was taken to jail no license/reg/insurance. I have the police report, got a new rental and was on my way...2 years ago. Now this clown is demanding I pay stating he has the police report and was unable to reach me for these 2 years and that I was the cause not the guy taken to jail. LOL all my same info was clearly on the report which he didn't have obviously. I called my insurance company they jumped right in and took care of it. Don't trust this company with any of your information !!!!

Wow! Looks like there are a lot of us. These guys are surely commiting fraud. Here is my story.

Only two weeks ago I recieved a call concerning a collection. I was given no information except for my "account number" and how I could pay online to keep from having my credit score effected and legal action taken.

Several things pissed me off. First, they called me at 6 a.m. Second they called from a restricted number, yet provided me with a number to call back in a voicemail. This was one of the first Red Flags. Third, they were very un-professional about answering my questions, which they pretty much did not answer at all. Only that I owed them $432.

The next time they called same thing happened except this time they told me they were located in Tuscan AZ instead of NY from the original phone call. I was able to get the name of the business that had sent me to collections and after 10 mins of arguing with the guy on the phone, he finally agreed to send me something in the mail.

I called the company who had "reported" me and what-do-ya-know, their computer records which are kept up to 3 years prior showed nothing on me even with all the information that I provided them. Makes sense since this business is a High-end commercial printer supply company. Along with this, they are located in non other than south eastern Michigan. I live in CA. WTF!? The assistant GM of the company, a pretty large company, was gracious enough to help me follow up on this situation since I let her know that Stuart Allen and Associates are using their good name in this scam.

I have been doing my research on this company and they have had many cival lawsuits against them, and many reports online of people asking "who are these people?"

Well, I am not going to wait to see what happens after 6 months to a year. Im acting now, and I suggest that anyone who has been legitametly harrassed and/or falsely accussed by these people to start action. I have no idea how these assholes have been around for so long. I have seen claims of this fraudulence from 2005.

This is what I am doing about it. Stuart Allen claims they are a part of these Associations:

The Commercial Collection Agency Association of the CLLA
American Collectors Association
Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America
Insurance Accounting Systems Association
Insurance Credit & Collection Association of New England
National Apartment Association
The A.B.A. Fidelity & Surety Law Committee
The American Collectors Association
The American Rental Association
The American Surety Association
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners
The California Premium Finance Association
The Equipment Leasing Association
The International Association of Commercial Collectors, Inc.
The National Association of Subrogation Professionals
The National Bond Claims Association
The Snow Sport Industries America
The Sporting Goods Manufactures Association
The Turnaround Management Association
The United Association of Equipment Leasing

You can find this information at:
w w w.stuartallan. com/proud.asp

I will be researching and contacting each one of these associations to make a complaint. Unfortunately they do not belong to the BBB. However, I will be contacting them to see how I can pursue some sort of Federal agency looking into them.

If needed I will also be contacting national news stations, as this may be a good story for one of them to report one and investigate. It would be nice for Americans to know about this.

I will also be calling and harassing them when I have the chance to see what they are going to do in order to remedy this situation.

-F**ked with the wrong guy, in CA

On a different subject....A salesperson called asking for the credit manager, I am the business manager and said that I would be the one to speak with he told me he specializes in collecting debt for my type of company. I told me that we have the area covered and would not be interested and hung-up. 2 seconds later he calls back with a snotty voice asking why I hung up on him and said that I did not hang up on he I told him I would not be interested, he then implied that I did not have the authority to make that decision and I explained that as the business manager I do and that I again do not require his services at that point he still insisted on being snotty so I copied down his info and asked to be taken off his list. I am not writing this email and reviewing the above posts and can see that I should not be surprised by the aggressiveness or the shadyness....

I just reviewed my credit report and it it showing that I owe Stuart Allen $214. It is listed as a retail debt but I have NEVER had a credit card with a dept. store, grocery store, or anything remotely close to it. I am concerned because every time i try to call the contact number on my credit report, the phone just rings. It oes not matter what time of day I call. I KNOW this is fraud but I don't know how to fix it. If anyone could send me some advice i would really appreciate it. My direct email is email deleted. Thank You[samebox:a4da4c7abc="paulmergel"]sorry but no personal info like e-mails allowed per TOS rules.[/samebox:a4da4c7abc]

The accident happened almost 2 years ago and the insurance never told me that they were going to contact them to get anything. Stuart Allen & Associates sent me a letter today saying that I have to send them a letter or a payment. I feel scared eventhough the DMV told me that they were trying to do scam. At the begining I thought it was real, but when the lady from Stuart Allen & Associates began to yelled at me saying that she was just trying to help me and that she wasn't going to play games with me. The only thing they have in the letter is my name & my address. I AM REALLY SCARED BECAUSE ALL I DO SINCE THAT ACCIDENT, ITS FOCUS IN COLLEGE. When the accident happened, my father's insurance took care of it and that was the end of it, I don't know why now 2 years after that this is happening. Should I seek for help? Who could help me in this matter?

I had recieved two calls from stuart allen and associates and they told me I had a debt with them and asked how I would like to pay it... I asked them on both phone calls to send something in the mail so I could see where this debt was coming from and see how I would be able to make payments on it.... Months later no letters no more calls.... I just went into my bank today to refinance my car and they told me my credit score.... I freaked out my credit score dropped almost 100 points and it is from stuart allen.... How can they do this? If I do have a debt they havent even given me a fair chance to fix it... No mail... only two calls.... Im 22 and have always been cautious of my credit score and finances and now I am screwed.... How can I fix my score????

Sounds like B-S issues everyones having with Stuart Allen,But still not even close to being as F-up as the run around Ive been getting for the last year,Its a real mind blower.Ive been through so much sh... with that company that I have enough to write a book,so I really cant get into or I would be writing for days......but what I will say is your not alone and Ive found incredible amounts of complaints on them, and Ive began to build a lawsuit,Im checking on different options right now.Let me suggest you do the same-even if you have to go in to court without an attorney make them come to your jurisdiction and question them in front of the Judge. Its legal and its your right in every state to do it,you can find all the information you need in your local library or here on the net,you can down load the forms or get them I believe at the clerk of courts, some places they charge a fee.If everyone Ive so far heard that has issues with this company are really telling the truth- then the judge will be in just as much question as you are on the issue- and I cant think of any good lie they could tell that would be a good enough exscuse to a Judge, they deal with liars all the time and can see through that sh....and you can be granted back any monies you ve lost taking them to court they will be ordered to pay you back and mabe then some:)

I received a call at 8:15 this morning. Had one right before that , that I didn't answer. The voicemail came on, he let it go almost to the end and hung up.

I live in N.C. He called right back, private name, private number.
Told me he was hired by Stewart Allen & Assoc. Gave me their number, I called it , number is out of service.

He told me he would be at my home within 24 to 48 hours, that Stewart Allen & Assoc., had hired him to investigate my bank accounts and assess all of my property. Like I'm going to let him in my house!!!

Thank God I have enough sense to do some investigating of my own. So, I' was wondering why a firm in Arizona would hire a firm from N.Y. to investigate someone in N.C.

Now this is Fri., so if he's coming in the next 24 to 48 hours, then that means he works Sat. and Sun. Doesn't make much sense to me.

However, on the phone, even though I didn't confirm my name for him, he repeated some of my SS. number, and my home address. I had been on pins and needles all day, until I had a chance to get on the computer and investigate.

Thank you guys for your prior postings. If anyone has more info on this subject, please respond.

Sincerely,
Cyndi

I just received a letter in the mail from Stuart Allen. It says the claimant is Farmer's Insurance Restitution. The amount I apparently owe them almost $2700. I used to have Life/Auto/Home insurance through Farmer's so I called and verified that according to Farmer's all those accounts were left in good standing. I talked to the claim's department and there aren't any outstanding claims against me. So far the letter is the only contact. Both times I have tried to call, the receptionist passes me to the "account manager" and it goes straight to voice mail. This clearly seems like a mistake to me, but from the sounds of it these guys have the ability to screw people's credit up. Any advice besides sending them a debt validation letter?

Thanks

After reading about how this company has ruined peoples credits, I received a call from a Don Candy who works for Stuart Allen Associates in Tucson (PH 520-322-7268). Accused me of having an outstanding bill for $7000 from an apartment complex that I never lived before. The same tactics, yelling and screaming about how it's already gone through the courts. He already called my work and asked for a supervisor that Ive never worked for. What sucks, after hanging up on me 3 more times, I called the number for Stuart Allen and talked to a supervisor. She checked for me and found that the person they were looking for did not have the same information. The lady told me that she would strike my phone number from there data base. Okay, does anyone know who I can call locally in arizona. This pissed me off especially since I had no idea what this person was talking about. I would really appreciate it.

I hope that you have better luck with them then i did, all within a months time i found out that i owed a debt with them. Called them to resolve it , they are very rude . I dont make very much money and they wanted 20% of 3500.00 down so i set up a payment for 50.00 every 2 weeks because they were going to get my drivers license suspended. The lady that i talked to said that that would keep them from suspending them until i get my taxes back so that i can pay the whole 20% down. About a week and a half after i made this arrangement i got a letter in the mail from IDOT saying that if i didnt comply with payment to the agency that my dl would be suspended. So i called them to get an istallment agreement and the lady that i had been dealing with Karen as soon as she found out who i was she put me on the phone with her supervisor which told me that the agreement that i made with karen wasnt approved by her so it was void and that i needed to pay 150 every two weeks to keep my dl . So i agreed bc where i live there isnt any public transportation so you have to drive everywhere . Cant pay your debt if you cant get to work , Right? Yet another week later my driving privledges were suspended. So i am paying 300 dollars a month for nothing pretty much and they wont do anything about it . If i stop paying i wont get my DL back . This was over an accident that involved a no insurance. No tickets were issued, it was on private property no fault accident. So , let me know how it works out for you!

That is the craziest story I have ever heard, sorry but you were either scammed or you are lying through your teeth, you can't have your license revoked for owing a debt.

The person who may lose their license over a debt is neither lying nor was scammed. If you operate a motor vehicle without insurance and damage property, you have to pay restitution immediately or lose your license. That's what the insurance does, it protects you by paying said restitution immediately so that you don't suffer the consequences of loss of license. I know this because the same thing happened to me last year and the debt collector told me i had to pay a percentage or would face losing my license and gave me a minimum monthly payment to make. And by the way, I had already been informed by the officer who made the report, a court clerk, and a 3rd party legal advisor that, yes, it was perfectly legal for my license to be suspended until the debt was paid in full and that i would have to absorb the cost of renewing my license after showing proof of receipt of payment to the company in charge of the debt.
