Sonic Payday deduct the full amount of the loan

What would happen if I could not pay a payday loan back on time. It is from Sonic Payday and they deduct the full amount of the loan plus their fees every pay period. I want to stop the cycle but I need a month to pay it in full not fourteen days. Could anyone give me some advice? I would appreciate any help that was necessary. Thanks.

Sonic is one of the worst IPDL's out there and will not make payment arrangements. If you only need a month to pay them back in full, you need to revoke your wage assignment letter that you signed with them to take out the loan and do that with them and with your payroll dept immediately. They are not licensed in many US states, so check their status with your state.
Normally you should close your bank account, but if you only need a month, I would put a block against them from debiting on it and then pay them back what you owe them. I would also figure out what you have actually paid on the loan with rollovers and base that figure from that.

Do what ks says. Also with most PDL's its in the contract that you can tell them to stop the automatic debit, but you must do it in writing and they have to receive at least 3 days before it is scheduled. So send them a letter revoking the automatic debit. Send it certified so you know they get it.

Thank you both for your input. I pulled by Loan Agreement and I had never looked at it closely until today. This is what I have found out. Sonic Payday is actually Northway Financial Corporation, Ldt. It is a company that is incorporated and carrying business under the law of the Republic of Malta. The annual percentage rate on my loan is 3160.90%. I looked through the loan and there is not a agreement that I signed to garnish my wages. The annual percentage rate is high. I never took notice of it. I live in Arizona. Is there a cap on the amount they can charge. I borrow different amounts each pay period, they range from 600 to 1100 and I have been doing this for about a year and a half. Never missed a payment. On each payday they automatically withdraw the loan amount and fees and I am able to reloan immediately. I got sick and I will be short this pay period and that is concern. How can a company in Malta legally dispense loans in the united states? Also according to my loan documents, I am bound by the law of Malta through the Hague Convention. Very weird. Any thoughts. I obviously want to pay this bill and will do so in a month but the percentabge rate is very high. Seem like I should be paying less than more? Is there anything I can do?

Okay. Thanks for the information. I don't know what to do now? I have been paying for loans over $600.00 plus fees for almost two years. What do I need to to now. I owe the money but its seems as if I have been paying way more in fees that I should of in the first place. What is my next move?

My user name is ctraslavina but I cannot remember my password and am waiting for the link to re-enter a new password. With that explaination completed, I contacted the attorney general's office of the State of Arizona and Sonic Payday is not licensed in my state. They also go under Northway Credit Corporation. They suggested that I file a complaint against the company, which I did, as they are illegally providing loans in the State of Arizona. She also indicated that the most this company could loan to me is $500.00 and that the largest interest rate was 465% apr. They are charing me 3190.60% on a 1100 loan. What is my next step.

Okay, do I do that through their website via e-mail. I don't have an address where to send the revocation letter to. Please help. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. I have filed a complaint with my state ag's office but since this company is out of the country, is there any other department I can go to in order to file a complaint? I feel pretty foolish right now. All this time, I thought "hey, this is a good company. However it is only a "good company" when you pay them timely, if I miss this payment, it seems like they become rabid collectors. However, when I advised them of my dilema, the company informed me that they will just allow the debits to go through and if they are returned nsf, they will give me fifteen days to provide them with the money before they attempt to debit the account again. My concern is, once I miss this payment, will they automatically contact my employer or do they wait? I really only need a month to pay them off but if what I understand to be correct, they waste no time in sending information to your employer even after you contact them and follow their steps. Is my understanding correct on this one. By the way, thanks kscornell for your thread concerning sonic. It was informative and as I work of a law firm, Sonic is barred from lending in the State of California and this was confirmed by their customer service department. They claim to be operating legally in the State of Arizona, but that is not correct. I got that information directly from an attonrey general in the State of Arizona.

They will waste no time in contacting your employer. Do not trust this company for a minute. They are shady and there is a reason that California has banned them. If the AG has told you that they are also banned in Arizona, then all you are obligated for is your loan principal. Total up what you have paid them, all fees included and if you only need a month to pay them off, then contact your bank and let them know that you revoke all authorizations for them to debit. I would also let the bank know that they use the following DBA's: Cash Transfer Centers and Northway Debit.
If anyone else in the group knows of any other DBA's that Sonic uses, please let us know!
And lastly, REVOKE THAT WAGE ASSIGNMENT!!! Good luck and let us know what happens!
