Copying content from the web and pasting it, and that is almost ALL this user is doing. Almost EVERY post he has made so far is ALL copied and pasted content.

Yeah we had blocked his ip temporarily - the reason why he posted as 'Guest' from a different ip. Shazz, can you please send me the url, so that we can track his new ip. Like I say always (Now you all must be really bored) .. it's very difficult to balance between keeping a spam free forum by blocking ips' and encouraging more forum participation at the same time coz if we keep on banning ip's we loose out on community participation. Tough isn't it !! :)

I understand, I am only trying to be helpful when I give you solicitors, I feel like such a tattletale sometimes! lol! It's just so funny that this particular member is posting with the same name as a guest. And especially copied and pasted content. lol Some of the comments he has posted (as an example) are something like:
"direct deposited the next day, designed to meet your financial needs!"
Just an example of the copied content he was posting. So, I see absolutely no value in that type of post, do you? And so far, every post he has made is similar to the example above.

They are always valuable shaz..thats why his ip was banned and now also I am asking you to send me the url where he posted as a Guest member so that we can ban his new ip. I was just sharing our dilemma when it comes to banning ips' and increasing participation at the same time. Nothing personal :)

let me state that it is a slippery slope, but i would rather preserve the integrity of the site than let people with not so noble intentions post links to basically pdl,or debt settlement scams.that could have a far greater negative impact than barring such posters.so i have no problem with what your doing shazz,in fact that is as big a service as helping people with info on the forums.just my take.

If you find value in posts with copied and pasted content, then I will leave them for your discretion. :)

Participation seems to be the deciding factor these days Paul. I am just going to let the posts remain.

i know.i just hope they realize that the hit from allowing those posts might be bigger than not allowing them.something for the admins to think about.
If you take a look at the previous discussions related to spammers / solicitors / duplicate content posters you will find that in each case either a temporary or a permanent ban was handed and necessary action with profile page links were taken as well. Sometimes it may so happen that these posters may use other options to post here, that doesn't mean the integrity of this site is compromised.

observations..

Has anyone seen Stuart thomas posting duplicate content lately? I haven't received the duplicate content post and the url where he posted as Guest !!

Any one of you still noticing promotional links in Matts / Sam Ruban / thehinsleylawfirm / Sara Goodman's profile page?

Certainly ONE major factor that should be taken into account while deciding. Size does matter. Payment section knows that very well :)

We need to be more patient and look to convert these 'Somewhat Knowledgable yet ToS Violaters' like Sara/ Matts/ mbrazier/ Sam into potential forum contributors. At the same time we must prevent useless members like Stuart thomas whose ONLY intention is to earn points by REPEATEDLY posting duplicate content, which ultimately affect our communities.

Henceforth all moderators are requested to send the urls where solicition, copied/duplicate content are present in a single thread instead of starting multiple threads. Just keep on adding your observations and we will take necessary action from here.

The bottom line is maintaining a fine balance..

We thank you all for your excellent job.

Keep the good work going..

Jason
