Settlement pressure

Nco is trying to collect for Amex. I will be able to settle at the end of Aug. when a family member loans me money. I called them to start the settlement processs and inform them of my intentions. They said they could settle for 25% now, but not next month. I told them I will have the money next month, not now and they said the offer wont be as good next month. Only 50%. Also, Nco is collecting for Citi. Same thing. Next months offer wont be as good, they are telling me.

Is this just a scare/pressure tactic to get me to commit now?

I was fortunate and settled all of mine before they went to a collection agency.

I digress.....with humor.
One of my brothers was traveling the world and overlooked a carp one payment for 5-6 months and it would up with nco.

These guys called me on my cell phone demanding that I relay the information to my brother. Googled 'em and found out this office was just outside of Hamilton, Ontario.

Told the goons that I would be there next month and we could meet face to face.
Tried to get his full name so that I could call him at home, but that went nowhere!

But the calls stopped. Guess I scared him.
And yes they holler and shout but put them on speaker phone and have some fun.

How they got my cell number is still unsolved.

Back to your situation.
They are overbearing, rude and just resemble errant sewer roaches.

They are definatley playing psy-ops games with you but turn it back on them.
