hello my name is Janice and I just signed up tonight. so please forgive me if I am not doing this right I will learn. My issue is this...I am in over my head in debt to the tune of $80,000 in credit card debt. I first panicked and went to credit counseling and was put on a budget. Sure the interest rates came down somewhat but not much so then I jumped again and did a debt consolidation company. Been with them since Sept. o8. Problem is I haven't saved any money to even offer a settlement because they got their money up front and then after we settle they take 17%. So now I am blindly wondering around on the internet and wonder if it truly is possible to do this myself and save money to apply towards the other debts. I was with New Era and after I found out that once a creditor is paid then I pay a percentage for this help which on one of my accounts totaling 25,000 I would owe them 3,200. I can't start saving towards settling another account until that is paid. I felt totally defeated. Does this zip debt program work? I saw someone on this forum say they were served with papers to go to court from citibank. Great just what I need a heart attack. Can anyone let me know if this zip debt program works any help will help me sleep for the first time it seems like in years.

janice, it is possible and many people here have done this by themselves, without help from any company. i do not know anything about zip debt program and recommend doing this on your own.
