MCM Collections ?

Hello all,
Well I am here again with a problem....My other problem with Resurgent that I posted about is in the lawyers hands now. Waiting to hear more from them. Any whooo...

My new problem:
I have been paying Salute CC card now (like my other debts) since
February 2009. In May 2009, I received a letter from Jefferson Capitol and then P.Scott Lowery, on this cc debt. I sent a DV to them and never heard back. So in September 2009, I pulled my credit report and they (Jefferson)are listed on it. I sent another DV to them both and the 3 CB's disputing this. Low and behold, today (10/14/09) I get a call at work from MCM (?) collections about this CC debt. I told the guy I was paying them (Salute) directly and I dont' owe them nothing. He wanted to know how much I paid them , I told his nosey butt it wasnt any of his business, and if he needed more information to send me a letter, then I hung up.
So...does this probably mean Jefferson couldn't validate and moved it on to another CA?
Do I just wait for a letter from MCM (whoever they are).?

Okay now what? As I said above, I sent a DV to Jefferson Capitol and Scott Lowery on this debt. Well today I got my certified letter back as un-deliverable. Should I make copies of this and send to the 3 CB's, since I am fighting to get them removed? I am more than positive they sold this account to MCM, since they never could validate the debt and I am paying the CC company direct. Now I guess I will be fighting with MCM...never ends does it?

Okay, I have received a letter from Midland claiming they own the debt from Salute. Jefferson Capitol is still listed on my credit report as the "owner", even though no validation was ever received. And, my last check sent to Salute for October payment was cashed.
So I am sending a DV to Midland today, both via fax and certified letter.
As far as I am concerned I owe Salute....correct?
::rolleyes:

Don't waste your time sending DV requests by fax, email, phone, smoke signals, or what have you. You need to send it in writing, and you need to be able to prove they got it. That leaves CM/RRR as the most cost-effective solution.

Thank you for the replies. I have some updated news on my Jefferson Capitol problem. As said above they never validated the debt but was on the three credit reports, So, I sent letters to all three and got two replies back. Experian said they needed more "proof" so I am going to send them the copy of the certified letter that was refused, Transunion sent their reply, and the results was it has been deleted. :)
I have sent a certified to MCM on this matter and I am waiting for the DV. Until then, payments will continue being made to Salute. Until proven I owe them and payments are refused by Salute, they get NOTHING. ;)

Hello all,
update... I received reply's from Transunion and Experian. They have not only deleted Jefferson Capital off my report, but also Salute. I'm not going to complain, (lol) but why the OC? And, do you think they will put it back on if/when MCM notifies them? BTW they still haven't validated the debt yet, so they would be in violation if they did.

Also, I have a post out about Resurgent on a different debt, it has been over thirty days and still no validation. Is there a time limit on them to respond?

Note:
I am still paying the OC's on these accounts, and they are accepting and cashing my checks. Should i continue to pay Salute? Now I am really confused.

Thanks NASCAR DEVIL for the response, and all who have been helping me.
If you will take a moment and read my post on Resurgent Capitol , I have an update there that I need answers for.
The reason Resurgent hasn't validated, is because it has now been turned over to an LPA office. So i guess here i go again is yet another DV letter.

Hello again...
I received a letter from Salute Yesterday ( I had also Dv'd them), saying:
"Your account is now being serviced by a new company. For further details call 800-281-2793".
This number belongs to Jefferson Capital, imagine that. They no longer have it. And yes, I am still waiting to hear from Midland. So the waiting begins, and I will not be sending any more payments to Salute. I guess I will eventually find out who to pay.
:(

Hi Paul,
Letters have been sent to everyone....Salute, MCM, Jefferson...and cb's.
1.Jefferson was returned not deliverable, 2.MCM no reply yet, 3.Salute saying sold to Jefferson, and 3.two CB's have deleted them (salute and jefferson) for no DV.
I guess the ball is in MCM's court now. Like I said, I will be sending no one any money till I find how who has this now. I would very much like to pay it off, as I had been by sending payments to Salute directly. But, no more. So complicated.

Bank that money towards a future settlement offer, when you find out who to deal with. Just don't send anybody anything more until you do find out. And don't accept a settlement offer until you have it in writing.
