Calling my references and bothering my family...

Hi, I'm new here. I've really gotten over my head with my payday loans and I need some help badly. I hate to close my bank account because I don't want them calling my references and bothering my family and friends. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!
Pam

Hey Pam, Welcome to the forums. Give us a little more info what state are you in? Who are these loans with? How much have you borrowed and paid back? maybe we can help. Kyside38

Thanks for your quick response!
I'm in Illinois. I owe about $2800! I can't believe I've gotten myself in such a mess. What can I do?

Pam they are legal there but there is some stipulations on that. No rollovers are permitted. Which means that you cant keep paying on them. Also your state allows for a repayment plan. Go to http://www.paydayloaninfo.org and click on your state laws. KYSIDE38

Okay, thanks. I saw that about the rollovers. I've been rolling them over and over and over. Should I contact each one? What do I tell them? I want to pay back what I owe them.

Pam my advice would be to contact the Attorney General in your state. the Consumer Division. They can help you sucessfully mediate this situation. I would pay no more than what the state allows. Not a dime more. Kyside38

Pam, which companies are you dealing with? There are lots of us here who have been in your same situation and have dealt with these companies. Let us know who they are and we will be able to give you advice on how to work things out with them. :) When I came here, I had 10 pdls for over $2000 so don't feel bad.
