Help With Two Numbers Please

I'm usually adept at tracking down telephone numbers but these two have me stumped. The first one, 877-899-0192, shows originating in Jacksonville, FL. The second, 877-373-5807, hasn't been traceable at all. If anyone can offer me some assistance with these, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you very much for the info. NCO huh? That's one of the worst in the business to have to deal with. Now that I know who it is, I believe I'll do what I did with another CA very recently. PCC out of Jenks, OK called several times. After I checked with my state's department of commerce and insurance, I saw where PCC was licensed to conduct collection activities in TN. As opposed to answering the telephone, I believe it is better to force their hands by making them communicate with me in writing. I sent this letter to them earlier this week via certified mail. Please let me know if I'm on the right path here.

Dear Sir/Madam:

This correspondence is in regard to your account number (omitted). I have received several telephone calls from you regarding a matter that has yet to be specified. I have investigated your company and learned that you are a collection agent and are licensed to conduct collection activities in the State of Tennessee.

I will be happy to discuss any business that we may have between us. However, I must ask that we do so in writing only. Please detail the nature of your alleged business with me by sending a debt verification letter. As you are well aware, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act entitles me to request such a document. Again referring to the FDCPA, this is to notify you that I wish all verbal communication to cease and desist between PCC and I. You are not to contact anyone other than me regarding this matter.

Upon receipt of your debt verification letter, I will respond within the 30 days allotted me by the FDCPA. Should I discover that the nature of your business with me is legitimate, I will make every effort to resolve this matter amicably and as expeditiously as possible.

You may send the letter to the following address:

(omitted)

As you will note, I have sent this correspondence via certified mail with return receipt. Should I not receive the information I have requested, or should PCC continue to contact me via voice, I will consider these as violations of the FDCPA.

Your attention to this matter is appreciated.

Thank you.

Any suggestions are appreciated. I really don't want to speak to NCO considering all of the terrible experiences people have had with them.

Thanks!

Looks Ok, you have exercised your legal rights on NCO. They are forced to validate the debt account on which collections is done. Check your credit copy if NCO has hit it negatively. If it has been done, they are legally responsible for providing you info on the account otherwise, you can sue them on charges of doing unauthorized reporting with the credit bureau.
