Is it normal to pay a post dated check over the phone
The collection company wants me to pay a post dated check (10 days ahead) over the phone, and they don't take money order or anything? It is normal for collection company to do this?

Actually the FDCPA specifically addresses post dated checks. They are permissable and the CA cannot cash the check prior to the date on the check. There are agencies that will violate that so it advisable to tape the call.

True, however, like you said, there are agencies who violate the FDCPA and there's no way to weed out who won't and who will follow the FDCPA. Personally, I would never do a check over the phone to anyone, period.
