Received collection letter from allied addressed to my maiden name from 16 years ago. I missed the dead line to validate debt. What can they do? the debt is not on my credit report. it's from an old department store and the debt was disputed.
If your debt account has passed the SOL period as per your state
If your debt account has passed the SOL period as per your state laws, then the debt collector won't be able to take any legal actions against you. You can check out the SOL period and then send a cease and desist letter to Allied Intestate asking them to not call you any further as the debt has passed the SOL period.
