However, the fdcpa clearly explains that an original creditor who uses any other name than his own while collecting a debt is required to follow the FDCPA:
... "the term [debt collector] includes any creditor who, in the process of collecting his own debts, uses any name other than his own which would indicate that a third person is collecting or attempting to collect such debts." ...
So if you took your loan out from Best Cash Advance, and then Knight Adjustment Bureau starts calling you, I would: A) make sure they're providing all the 1692g disclosures and mini-miranda; B) demand validation; and C) send a cease and desist. If they don't adhere, then they are violating the law.
