CPU/CBSD is in my credit report. What does it mean?

What does CPU/CBSD mean on my credit report?

To all this may concern: Two days on the phone. Tons of stress. And lots of dead ends. I finally got lucky and found a number which resolved my case. Here is a good deed passed onto others:
CPU/CBSD
Conoco Phillips Union (CPU/CBSD)/CitiBankSouthDakota
1-800-722-2617
P.O. Box 689140
Des Moines, IA 50368-9140

Mention your credit report. Give your info. Takes 30 days for correction to be updated on your credit report if you are able to be removed from account.

I saw this on my credit report (CPU/CBSD) and didn't know what it was. I was concerned that I had a balance I didn't know about. I googled it and out came this thread and immediately my question was answered with helpful info! Thanks so much!

Thank you to the person who posted the above information:

I too found this reported as an active account in the Credit History section of my credit report generated by CBCInnovis. This particular entry drew my attention as it showed a Balance Owing and it was opened well before I was born.

While I was calling the number listed above for CPU/CBSD I noticed the number "3" in the ECOA column to the left of the CPU/CBSD entry. According to the ECOA Key on this particular report, the number "3" indicates that I am an "Authorized User" and then I realized this is an account belonging to my parents, and I am going to contact them to get the required information to remove me from their account.

I hope this might give some insight to anyone that has an entry of CPU/CBSD on their credit report. Additionally, the phone number listed for CPU/CBSD in the above entry is still valid as of April 24, 2009.

I had CPU/CBSD on my credit report and never had a credit card with Conoco Phillips. I called and found out when I was in college I used my parents Conoco Phillips gas card. Even though my name was not on it, I was an authorized user of the credit card. So it showed up on my credit report. I called them and verified the information and said it would be off my credit report in thirty days. 1-800-722-2617
