telecheck is for reporting bounced checks that haven't been made good. Once the check is made good, the item is deleted from the report.
Chexsystems is for banks to report customers that have nsf's, commited fraud or some sort, or have negative balances. Basically a bank can report you for anything. If you've been denied a bank account because of chexsystems you can get a free report. The denying bank will give you a form. You can also order a copy of the report on their website. Google chexsystems and you will find their website. Once an item has been reported against you it stays on the report for 5 years, regardless of if it was made good. The only way an item can be removed is if it isn't yours or the reporting bank requests removal.
There is also Teletrack. This is a reporting agency for payday loans, rent-a-center furniture type items, and other sub prime loans.

ok thanks!!!! what happens if i close my bank accoutn and i still have checks that havent cleared??? How do i go by getting them paid.

nyah - If the checks haven't cleared I would suggest you immediatly contact the people you wrote the checks to and explain the situation and make arrangements to pay them directly. In some states and situations you could be prosecuted for bounced checks.
