Your bank should be able to give you contact information on anyone or company withdrawing money from your account. Once you get that contact info, you need to call them or better yet send them a debt verification letter certified mail with return receipt.

With a storefront PDL company like Advance America, the only way they could get an account number would be off a paper check that a borrower would have written to them. Has anyone stolen checks from you? I would call the Advance America branch and your bank and ask to see a copy of the check that was presented ASAP.

I would still call Advance America for the following reasons: it sounds like they are trying to collect on a defaulted account, because what they do in this case is try to debit in different amounts electronically, after the paper check has been dishonored and returned.
It sounds like possibly someone in their collections department wrote down an account number incorrectly to debit and it came up yours? Either way, I would call Advance America, and if they can't help you, call your bank and put a block on your account against them.
