Does anyone have any info. about this # 877-230-8414?

It is Mercantile Adjustment Bureau- a collection agency.

Actually, I found an old collection letter, and it's from Pallino Receivables. This would be in regards to an old MDNA account that was charged off. The last correspondence I received from them was back in December 2006, but being scared and stupid, and not knowing what to do, I ignored it. Is it too late to ask them for debt validation. All they have on this letter is the amount, my account number, and the original creditor. I am worried because it states on the letter that they assume the debt is valid unless I dispute the validity of the debt within thirty days of notice.

Maybe they've changed their name? My old bill with this number on it is from Mercantile.

What happened when you dealt with them?

Mine was regarding a car that was totaled and we didn't have the money immediately to pay off the differnce, so, once I could I paid the original creditor..somehow these crazy butt people called and mailed us letters wanting to collect. Not happening. Luckily, I had cancelled check, etc. to prove that I had paid the car loan company. So, other than a phone call or two I didn't have to deal with them.

I've read on other sites that they are fairly rude and pushy. I didn't experience that but I also did not had all my proof so not much they could do. .
