CAs acquiring my unlisted

I guess changing your home phone number and paying extra to get the number unlisted means nothing nowadays. A collection agency left a msg. on my voice mail last night, and I know for a fact that the creditor who turned my acct. over to this CA did not have my current home phone # when the acct. was active and in good standing.

Another of my creditors that I have put in my settlement plan called a few days ago while I was at work, but did not leave a msg. Just saw the number on Caller ID and when I called it back, got the auto attendant, which gave the name of the company.

This happened to anyone else?

Thanks Steelers... I've actually used that search engine before. I did a search and my name and address come up once, and there are a couple of other listings with just my name, and one of them has a phone number that I have NEVER had. I called the number and it says that it has been changed to a non-published number.

So..... I'm assuming these CAs are paying one of those services like Intellius that give you all kinds of personal info., who knows. No shred of personal info. is private anymore!

I changed my phone number once and then I had to get a loan with my local bank. Of couse they have my number. They put it on the credit application next thing I know every creditor had it. I think they may have ways of looking at it. KYSIDE38
