I had a collection account that I wanted to pay it was to NCO financial. when I spoke to the rep she said my balance had accrued interest. the original was about 300 less than 400. on the statement from NCO it said principal was almost 600. and in total I ended up paying them about 900 or so. Now that I have been really looking into these collection agencies I'm wondering if I did a dumb thing by overpaying. Was that legal for them to add to my origianl debt after it had gone to collections? can I do anything now?? another thing the rep said that in 30 days after my last pmt I would receive a letter for me to send to the 3 credit agencies to have that collection account removed and now they "NCO" won't send me that letter. how do I get it removed??
